I had the pleasure of working with Garson Yu at Yu and Co. http://www.yuco.com , who had the idea of creating a "baroque-like fresco” using contemporary people in various everyday life situations. With Garson’s direction, I worked on creating scenes, which (I hope) reflect love, angst, violence, sex, loss, and regret. We then decided to compile all of the different illustrations into a composition, using a dome ceiling to bring everything together. After I completed the paintings, Garson’s team animated my work, and added music to complete the project. I am very proud of my contribution to this show…and I am grateful that I had the opportunity to work with the amazingly creative people at Yu and Co.
I am planning on posting the final product later on this week, but if you have a chance, you can see my work in the opening credits of “The Leftovers”, tonight on HBO!!!!
Attached are images of one of the first scenes I completed for the project, showing an “exploded view” of the layers which helped the team with the animation process.
